Lockdawg recaps the NBA Finals. After four tough games the series is tied 2-2 with one game left in Boston. The Celtics had the better team in Game 4 and they got the win to save their season. Now the series is a best of 3. LA has to have Game 5 otherwise it could be curtains for the purple and gold!

Lockhart Line 6.8 - Sports Update - NBA FINALS
Lockdawg returns to update the NBA Finals match up between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. After two games the series is tied 1-1 but the refs are 2-0!! After bad officiating in both games, it's time for both teams to stop complaining about whistles and play basketball. Can Ray Allen go 8 for 11 from 3-point range again? Will Rondo mess around and get another triple double? What about the Lakers bigs (Gasol, Odom, Bynum) can they be a force in the paint and post positions in Beantown? Answers to these questions and more tonight in Game 3!

Lockhart Line 5.2 Sunday Sports Update: NBA Playoffs
Lockdawg updates the NBA playoffs. Goodbye and good riddance to the Mavericks, Lakers get gift path to Finals now that series with Thunder is over. LeBron and Shaq squeeze out tough victory over Celtics in Game 1 of Eastern Conf Semis, Atlanta still has to fear the deer in Game 7 before maybe facing rested Magic in second round. Does San Antonio have anything left to beat upbeat Suns? After dispatching bruising six-game series with Dallas, Spurs maybe out of gas.

DAL-LA Dallas Destroys Defending Champs Get First Win 94-80
The Los Angeles Lakers could not over come a sloppy, sluggish start and the Dallas Mavericks took full advantage downing the defending champion Lakers 94-80 before a stunned silent Staples Center crowd.
Wow. Who knew the Mavericks could play defense?
Early foul trouble for both Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest forced Lakers head coach Phil Jackson to make abnormal substitutions and the Lakers were not able to find their stroke after a spirited first quarter that ended with Dallas nursing a slim three point lead.
Soon after the start of the second quarter, Dallas began to click on the defensive and offensive glass, building on the three point first quarter lead, taking a seven point lead into the half. Ball handling miscues caused in part by mental lapses and a stifling Dallas zone helped contribute to the Lakers' demise in the first half.
After the break, the real Lakers must have been kidnapped by early-bird trick-or-treaters because the team that showed up to play the second stanza of the game were not the champions of last season and they surely did not play like a team that will win anywhere near 72 plus games this season. Dallas' slim seven point lead would be short-lived, eventually exploding into double digits, thanks in part to poor Lakers shooting from the 3-pt arc (7-23, 30.4%) and a pedestrian free-throw shooting performance (9-14, 64.3%).
