Chuckster Arrested on DUI suspicion in AZ

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. Benjamin Franklin once said, "Glass, china and reputation are all easily cracked and never well mended. The same can be said about Charles Barkley the reigning Humpty Dumpty of the NBA on TNT circuit. This morning the Associated Press released a report on the arrest of former NBA superstar Charles Barkley in one of the trendiest parts of town in Old Scottsdale, after he ran a stop sign around 1:30 am. The NBA legend refused to submit to a breathalyzer but a sample of his blood was taken by police before he was cited and released. The results of the blood test were not immediately available.

In 1993, he sparked a national debate when professed that athletes are not role models and that he himself was not one. This latest arrest serves as further notice to us that he was not lying when he said those now famous six words. If nothing else the round mound of rebound is a model of a lot of things kids should never want to be such as a loud mouth, overweight, overly opinionated gambling addict and alcoholic. And this is the man that wants to lead the great state of Alabama as governor in 2014. C'mon Chuckster get it together baby!

Many Americans will hit the streets tonight to ring in the New Year with drink and celebration. The culmination of another fantastic year on this planet serves as a easy platform for us all to get out and appreciate the successes and failures of the past year but I want to remind everyone to take care to be safe no matter your holiday plans are for this evening. I don't know about you but I've got too much living left to do to die now. Peace and prosperity to all in 2009 and the years to come!!
