Lockhart Line 4.16 (late edition) Tribute to Uncle B.

Tribute to Uncle B.
4.12.60 ~ 4.12.10
Today, we say so long, but not farewell to a man of many faces.  Uncle B. wasn’t always the happiest person as I remember, but, in the last year I can say with certain confidence that He (The Lord) had made a change in the life of my uncle.  Gone was the mean-spirited and sometimes cantankerous man who would offer you a knuckle sandwich if you looked in his direction the wrong way.  A renewed and rejuvenated man now, sold out for Christ had been re-born.  Now, he would sooner offer a hug, a smile, or a word of encouragement to help brighten your day.  He had been looking for work and had enlisted my help.  When we last spoke about a week or so ago, it was because I’d seen a posting for a job fair at AutoZone in Garland.  I called my mom to tell her the info to pass along to Uncle B. but, she didn’t answer.
I left a message and before I could finish mom’s cell was beeping in.  I quickly answered, “Hey mom, what’s up? Did you get my message?”  To my surprise, it wasn’t mom on the other end but Uncle B.  I could hear in his voice a subtle tone of despair because he still hadn’t found any work.  I told him that we’d make it through and everything would be alright. As we ended the call he told me he loved me and for the first time that I could remember I loved him just as much as he loved me.  I wanted badly to help Uncle B. because he had stepped in and performed so admirably since he’d moved in with mom about a year or so ago.
Well, gladly B. didn’t get the job he’d been searching for in this state or the world for that matter.  Unbeknownst to any of us, he had applied to and been accepted with an exclusive construction company.  The requirements were simple live holy and never get tired.  A man with a heart as big as B’s would be just the man for that job!  See, this construction company is starting a new development.  He’d be assigned to the mansion building department at Heavenly Gates Construction Co.  With joy and gladness in my heart I can say that through it all, I’ve learned, as my uncle did, to depend upon the Lord.
As you leave today, don’t be sad or blue but, be comforted in knowing that they are still taking applications at Heavenly Gates and positions are opening daily.  If you have been waiting until later to apply, don’t be a fool and miss out on the opportunity to work for the one employer who will never fire you.  If you need help finding a number to dial to reach someone at the company, don’t worry or fret because the lines at Heavenly Gates are open 24/7/365 and the line is always answered by the C.E.O. himself and his name is Jesus.  Just fall on your knees and speak from your heart and surely he’ll come into your life and offer you a position to be on the roll.  I love you all and I miss my uncle but, he is in a better place now.  Be blessed.
