Ashely Todd a Republican college student, McCain supporter and resident psycho, concocted a whale of tale that has pulled the McCain campaign down to new depths and opened some very old American race wounds. In the sick sad spirit of the lynching of Emmett Till or the absurd claim lobbed by Susan Smith, Todd proclaimed to police and on the internet that a large African American Obama supporter had mugged her.
Not only did he steal the $60 she had just gotten out of the ATM in a rough Pittsburgh neighborhood, he also punched and kicked her a couple of times before carving a backwards "B" in her face. And why did she say that it happened, because she had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on her car.
Guess what? She confessed... IT WAS ALL FRIGGING LIE!! A disgusting, revolting, race dividing lie.
Is this really how you want to be remembered? Do you really want the record to show that you were so afraid that your candidate had no chance to win that you would resort to this sort of vile racist tactic? I was so shocked and repulsed by this report. The fact that it has gotten so much time on mainstream television just makes things worse.
With only 11 days left you have to know that we've only touched the surface. The claims will become more egregious. But as we inch closer to history be not afraid they won't get this one like they did in 2000. Be not intimidated. Carry on the fight until the end. We must not be deterred by their hate. Our focus must remain sound and just. Keep the hope alive!! We will get the change that we need. GO OBAMA!!! GO BIDEN!!!
OH MY!!! I mean I'm not American ( as you might of noticed ) but I've been following the whole election etc; & You know I'm all down for the change in 08 etc and IF PEOPLE AINT NOW CHANGING THEIR VIEWS ON THE VOTING !! Then your dumb. I can't actually believe this. & how small minded that it has to be somebody black just because the canidate is black like their aint white people voting for him. UGHH this type of stuff makes me soo sick. Typical racism and it's something you would at least think people would of got over by now but by this whole election process etc its still VERY VERY much alive and kicking..ARGH reading this has got me so irrate (sorry )
ReplyDeleteLaaLaa, I'm so glad you share my sentiment on this issue. It is a sick sad racist attempt to scare people. This year we've crossed so many barriers and really made some gains in the democratic movement, as we young Americans are standing up and writing our page in history with dignity and courage. I just hope that these divisive tactics are roundly denounced and bring forth the change we need.
ReplyDeleteYeah, It's very true! Let's just hope there are more people who share them views then the view's of idiotic people like that. I just can't get over how ignorant people still are it truely shock's me. Only 20years I've spent on this earth but God know's Ive had my fair share of year's of bullying due to me being mixed raced. People really need to open their eyes and realise were not going away anytime soon so deal with it.
